The Great Lakes Technology Center is a highly flexible 693,000 +/- sq ft facility uniquely designed and built for adaptive use. Developed by the Detroit firm of Miller-Vigliotti Development Co., Inc, in 1987 the buildings were created to allow for easy conversion from manufacturing to offices and back again. The Center was given the prestigious BOMA Award for Office Building Of The Year in 2001 – 2002. Far ahead of its time when it was built twenty years ago, the facility still is adaptable to whatever configuration a owner’s imagination chooses.

The Great Lakes Technology Center is a highly flexible 693,000 +/- sq ft facility
uniquely designed and built for adaptive use. Developed by the Detroit firm of Miller-Vigliotti
Development Co., Inc, in 1987 as a high tech engineering and development facility
for the General Motors Corporation, the buildings were created to allow for easy
conversion from manufacturing to offices and back again. The Center was given the
prestigious BOMA Award for Office Building Of The Year in 2001 – 2002. Far ahead
of its time when it was built twenty years ago, the facility still is adaptable
to whatever configuration a owner’s imagination chooses.
The site is located on a 40 +/- acre campus in Flint, MI, near Interstates 475,
69 and 75, Bishop International Airport, hotels, hospitals, fitness facilities and
restaurants. The Great Lakes Technology Center consist of 5 buildings ranging in
size from the original General Motors 54,000 +/- sq ft administration building to
a 3-story, 383,634 +/- sq ft adaptive use facility.
South Parcel is a historical landmark with 54,000 square feet once housing the founding
father of General Motors, Billy Durant. His office is still intact with the original
design and materials. This is the first time this state-of-the art facility has
been made available to the public.
